Before you start

What to know before you test: how signing in works, the test payment card, why you need more than one browser window, and the test codes and files you'll use.

1. Signing in: email codes, no passwords

Type your email and click Continue with email.
Check your inbox for an email from Orvana called "Your Orvana code".
Type the 6-digit code. It works for 10 minutes.

Tip Can't find the email? In Gmail, look in the Updates tab. Also check Spam. If you asked for lots of codes quickly, wait 15 minutes and try again.

Team accounts

The part after the + is just a label. All three codes arrive in Joel's inbox (joel.balang@orvana.health). Check the To: line of each email to see which account the code is for.

Customer account

Use your own email address. Your account is created the first time you sign in.

Want a fresh, empty customer account? Gmail users can add a label, like yourname+test1@gmail.com, then +test2, and so on.
Don't use a team email as a customer. The customer app will refuse it, and the Team Dashboard refuses customer emails.

2. The test payment card

Payments are pretend. On the payment page, use:

On the payment page:

If the price shows in another currency, click SGD 149.00.
A phone number is required. Use 8123 4567.
For the address, click Enter address manually and use 1 Raffles Place, postal code 048616.
If your browser offers to save the card, say no.

3. Use a separate browser window for each person

Orvana remembers one person per browser. If you sign in as the clinician, the operations person in the same browser gets signed out.

When you play more than one role, use a separate window for each:

4. Kit codes and tube codes

There's no physical box to send. The operations person creates the kit on screen and gives two codes to the customer, by chat or message:

5. Test sample files

In real life, the lab sends Orvana a data file for each sample. For testing, we host ready-made files. The operations person copies and pastes one of these on the Deliver FASTQ step:

Test file A — use this one. A sample with gum-disease bacteria. The report will have findings to review.

Test file B — healthy mouth. A healthy sample. The report has no warning findings.

Test file C — unusable sample. Not a proper mouth sample. The clinician sees a red warning and no score. Use it to practise rejecting a report.

Tip Always copy the web address and the check code from the same file.

6. Things that are already there

This test environment is shared. You may see other testers' orders and reports, including ones from the automatic robot test (emails ending in @resend.dev). That's normal. Only touch your own orders.
